Stephanie's Story...

Pituitary surgery August 8, 2002.

Had a macroadenoma that is secreting ACTH (thus, am a Cushing's patient) that was to big to be totally removed, also pushing up into the 3rd ventricle and leaning posterior on my optic nerves. Had radiation therapy (28 doses) by shaped proton beam Dec-January 2002.

6 month follow-up MRI shows no change in tumor. I am still a Cushing's patient. I was on Ketaconazole for approximately 10 months postoperatively. Have now stopped, started DHEA (25mg) daily. I had follow-up labs done last week, waiting to hear the results. I have not worked for the past 4 months, due to extreme fatigue, weakness, mental fog.
