And It's About Time There Was Some Support For Cushing's!
27 year old female
Chief symptoms: weight gain (60 lbs), insomnia, depression, facial hair, acne, high blood pressure, high blood sugar (pre-diabetic).
Blood clots in my lungs - not officially as a result of Cushing's, but no other explanation for them.
I listed my bio, but it is not up-to-date. After my pulmonary embolism (which was determined to be a result of the combination of Cushing's and the IPSS procedure), my surgery was postponed until December 2007. My surgery was successful, although I did not start making my own cortisol until nearly one year later.
As of February 2009, my cortisol level is 6.5, and I am still taking 15 mg of hydrocortisone daily. I still wear a medic alert bracelet for Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency (Addison's disease).
