And It's About Time There Was Some Support For Cushing's!
I was diagnosed with Cushing's back in 2004 after being told by several doctors that I was fine. They told me I just needed to lose weight! I was so lucky to have a family practice doctor who believed that there was something wrong with me.
I have since had two transphenoidal pituitary surgeries and Gamma Knife radiation. I have been taking Ketoconazole since the radiation, but I just found out from my endocrinologist that my blood and urine cortisol levels are still high. She is going to start me on another medication, Metyrapone. I kinda figured that this was the case because I have never lost any of the symptoms of the Cushing's.
I am trying to stay positive, but this is becoming a very frustrating process. I am so happy that I found this support group.
