I got Dr. Kennedy's email address from this site and sent him an email the day before thanksgiving (prior to getting my MRI result) I told him my story and my lab results. He sent me an email back that day saying to fax him my lab results. I did that night and on thanksgiving day he told me he would have his office contact me on monday with an appointment for dec. 7. I couldn't believe he emailed me on Thanksgiving! I went to Florida Shands for my appointment. Dr. Kennedy was wonderful. My doctor is... an endocrinologist. He is a wonderful, compassionate doctor who has supported me throughout my recovery from Cushings, esp. by answering my emails whenever I had questions. He has seen more than 200 Cushies in his life-time. He works with Dr. Roper, a neurosurgeon. |

You won't find better bedside manner. He makes sure I understand all of my test results and what they mean (to the point of quizzing me to make sure I know where each little hormone comes from and what it does!) so that I can take an active part in my medical care. This is in great contrast to the other doctors I have been to, who have seemed annoyed if I question my results or bring up something I read. He does his dictation in front of the patient to make sure you understand everything he is thinking. Finally, his extremely cautious but confident approach allows me to relax a bit and rely on him, which is worth its weight in gold. |
