Trena's Story

I believe my daughter, Kristen 18, may have Cushing's. We are in the process of trying to get help.

I believe our family doctor did not take up seriously because my son, who is 17 was diagnosed last February with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I think the doctor feels it is odd for one child in a family to have a rare disease but it would probably be near impossible for two children in the same family to have unrelated rare diseases.

I am extremely frustrated and ready to fight until we get Kristen the help she needs. I am not a doctor or even in the medical field but by investigating on my own, I knew my son had cancer before the doctor even thought it was a possiblility and I know in my heart there is something wrong with my daughter and I will not stop until someone tells me what it is.

The following is a list of her symptoms: Hump on upper back/lower neck, weight gain, nausea and vomiting, back pain, no menstrual cycle, headaches, depression, round face, extreme fatigue, anxiety, acne, severe chest pains that radiate into her back, insomnia, excessive sweating in her palms, high cholesterol.

Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Trena
