And It's About Time There Was Some Support For Cushing's!
Hey all, My name is Shannon, and I'm pretty glad to have stumbled across this website.
I'm a 33 year old mom in Northern California who had been struggling with constant fatigue, bizarre weight gain, moodiness/depression, and a host of other constant symptoms. I was (finally!) diagnosed with a pituitary tumor this past April, after heartbreaking months and months of doctors that just had no idea. Turns out I had a fun combination of Cushings and acromeglia from the tumor.
Had surgery this past JUne and m poking along with a bit of hormone therapy. I'm still kind of struggling; the hydrocortisone pills are making me continue to gain weight, AND I've recently been diagnosed with sleep apnea, which is slowing down my recovery as well, but big picture I'm just happy that they finally figured out what the (bleep!) was finally going on.
I'd be happy to talk to anyone if they wanted information on the Stanford hospital PItuitary center, my doctors there, or any of the therapy i've had with this (specifically Sandostatin injections.)
