Sarah's Story

My sister in law was diagnosed with Cushing's yesterday. She has a 5mm growth on her pituitary.

Yesterday she was so happy the diagnosis came through so something could be done about it. We have been suspecting it for about 2 weeks. She is scheduled to return to the hospital on Monday, Feb 11.

Today her emotions were at rock bottom and she was extremely depressed. Don't worry, we won't "leave her alone" as she demands. We know she's scared and that her hormones are also playing games with her.

What can we say or do to comfort her other than just be there? She has been very afraid to be alone at night for at the moment she has a hard time catching her breath.
