And It's About Time There Was Some Support For Cushing's!
In 1998 I first noticed something was wrong, I was loosing my hair, gaining weight, and was getting hair in places girls are not supposed to. About 9 months later I went to a doctor.
After many referrals and frustrating episodes I ended up seeing a dr in nashville, TN, Dr. W. He did a bunch of tests, 24 hr urine twice, he also gave me dexamethasone and had me take it for 2 months, then slowly took me off it. After not being told anything and getting my doctors bill I was just fed up. I did not go back again.
Now it has been 6 years, I just went to the doctor last month. I have no diagnosis, but there is little doubt I have cushing's. My biggest problem now is my high blood pressure its uncontrollable. My other symptoms include hirsutism (chin and face), buffalo hump, moon face, bruising, weak muscles, anxiety and drepression. The worst thing has to be the anxiety, I have not slept well in months maybe a year or more.
I am hoping for the best, but it is beginning to look pretty sad. I can use all the help and support I can get. I have no one to talk to about this who understands. Being alone makes the depression almost unbearable.
