MissMary's Story

I am a 28 year old female who has been displaying many symptoms of what I thought was hypothyroidsim. My thyroid was checked about 2 years ago and was normal. About 3 weeks ago I noticed a hump "buffalo hump" on my back and decided to go to the dr to be evaluated. She did a complete blood workup and called me the next morning and said my cortisol level was 34.7. I just graduated nursing school and I contributed this to being tired all the time.

My symptoms include: buffalo hump, moon face, weakness, extremely tired, ache, freq. urination, cant lose weight, high cortisol levels. My family doctor was referred me to an endocrinologist. They cant see me until June 10. I am know that they will more than likely do a 24 hour urine, MRI, etc. I hope that I dont get blown off by the endo.

It I need I will travel to see a dr that sees a lot of cushing pts. Cushings isnt very common and I want someone that is up to date on treatments. Anyone with information I would love to talk with you. I need some word of encouragement. I want to get to the bottom of all this!! Thank you!!
