And It's About Time There Was Some Support For Cushing's!
I'm 41 years of age.
I have long suspected that I've had Cushings since childhood or at least since puberty.
I enjoy hiking, reading, listening to music, spending time with my cats and my family.

My name is Mari and I'm 41 years old and from Sumter, SC. I moved here from Oregon around 10 years ago.
Yesterday I was officially diagnosed as having cyclical Cushings. My PCP is still running tests and is trying to get me into an Endocrinologist but he said my tests send enough up red flags to earn a cyclical Cushings diagnosis. Now he's getting ready to look much closer at my adrenal glands.

After years of unexplained symptoms, my PCP finally diagnosed me with Cushings on August 27, 2007. My symptoms included central obesity, IBS symptoms, various skin ailments, thinning skin, hair issues, breast discharge, menstrual problems, heart problems, manic episodes, insomnia, night sweats, tremors, and many other symptoms.
My PCP referred me to an Endocrinologist for a second opinion, and I had my first visit on September 25th 2007. This doctor was wonderful and suspects that I have a pituitary tumor and is doing everything he can to find it. He has ordered an MRI and a battery of additional tests. I see him again in two weeks and have my first serious Cushings test next week. Hopefully it'll give the results that I so badly need! and we can put this monstrous disease behind me.
This disease has turned me into a total different person, and has made me lose sight of who I am. But I have gained some new friends along the way with the power of this board and some friends who have stood by me in my real life. Hopefully soon we can get this resolved!
