Angel, undiagnosed bio

Hello! My name is Angel and I live in Largo, FL.

Back in February I noticed that I had a hump on my neck forming. I went to 3 different doctors and they all told me different things. At first it was a tumor and then it was a cyst. Finally I went to a surgeon who told me that it was just a big fat hump forming but had no idea what caused it.

A few months after that I noticed that it was getting bigger and at the same time I started feeling extremely tired and weak all of the time. For only being 28 yrs old I knew something was wrong. A few weeks ago I was forced to go on medical leave because I am not able to stay awake. Other than being tired all of the time, being very weak, and my hump forming, I noticed my eye brows were growing in quicker and thicker, I was breaking out randomly near my hair line, I have had a hard time holding down food, I have gained almost 30 lbs in the last 2 months and it is all in my mid section, my periods have become more irregular, and I have completely last my sex drive.

Almost 15 years ago I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes so I have grown to know and pay close attention to my body over the years so I knew something was wrong but I didn't know what. I went to my primary care doctor and he ran a bunch of test and then told me that he had no idea what was wrong with me but that I needed to lose weight.

I went to my Endocrynologist and he said it is all from my diabetes because I am gaining way to much weight. I then went to the GI doctor to find out why I was vomitting all of the time and he discovered that I have acid reflux. I then decided to turn to the web. I have spent countless hours on the internet trying to find out what is wrong with me.

Last week I finally found this website and after reading about Cushing's disease I would be willing to be money that this is what I have. I made an appointment with an Internal Medicine DR right away and got in the same day. I brought him an entire folder of blood work and test that I have had done in the last few months. After we talked for a while he told me that he thinks I have PCOS. He also thought some of my sympoms were caused by my diabetes. I brought printouts with me regarding Cushing's and he told me that I don't have it because it is way too rare but to make me feel comfortable he referred me to another Endocrynologist.

I went online to search for top notch doctors who specialize in Cushing's and I came across one that was only 40 miles away on the other side of Tampa. I called him and luckilly got in 2 days later. I went yesterday to see this new DR and rather than mentioning Cushing's to start, I spent over an hour going over my symptoms. After we talked and she examined me she told me that she was going to run some tests on me and have me collect a 24 hour urine on me. She then told me that she thinks I have something wrong with my adrenal or pituitary glands. After that, I asked her if she was referring to Cushing's Disease and she said yes. I am so grateful that I found this new doctor and she is testing me for this because I am almost certain this is what I have. I just want to find out so I can start to feel better and regain my energy.
