And It's About Time There Was Some Support For Cushing's!
I was diagnosed with Pituitary Cushings in December 2007 and just had transphenoidal surgery on February 15, 2008. The surgery itself was successful and I am healing from that. Now we'll see what kind of results will follow.
Not sure how long I have had Cushings, but have been having related symptoms for at least a decade. Weight gain, muscle weakness and injury, buffalo hump, high blood pressure, and many others. On top of experiencing all these symptoms, one of the hardest experiences is that no one believed me about the weight. From doctors to friends, they just felt I was not disciplined enough to eat properly and exercise right. I knew intrinsically that something was not right and that I should not be as heavy as I was for what I was eating. Getting my diagnosis both explained so many of the nebulous symptoms I have been experiencing, plus affirmed my knowingness that there was something unusual about my weight gain. Finally people believe me and are becoming aware of this unusual hormonal disorder.
