And It's About Time There Was Some Support For Cushing's!
I'm not exactly sure that I belong here. My husband and I watched Sharmyn's story last night on Discovery Health and I think I may have some of the symptoms for Cushings. My husband was actually the first person to say anything.
I'm 28 and have a huge mid-section. About 4 years ago I was able to lose some weight before getting married but that stopped around 185. Since then I have only gained weight no matter what type of dieting I have done. I'm well over 230. I think i have the described moon face. For about 6 or more years I have had the buffalo hump on my neck/back. Is there any other cause of this? I get migraines pretty bad sometime so I saw a chiropractor for that and he said everything was fine with my spine at the moment so that makes me believe that it has nothing to do with my spine at the moment. He referred to it as a cervical fat pack.
I do have pink/purple stretch marks all over my stomach and under my breast but I assumed it was all just due to weight gain. I have always thought I had more body hair than other women. I'm not sure what I should do, but this all seemed to fit pretty well. I called an made an appointment for a physical in a couple of weeks. My body is always achey but I've also assumed that was just cause I was fat and getting fatter so of course my body is going to hurt. The more I read about Cushings the more scared I get. I keep thinking maybe this is my problem. Is it typical for the buffalo hump to ache at times? Sometimes I feel like it swells up and becomes tight and causes my arms and fingers to go numb often especially while sleeping.
Any ideas out there? What shall I do? Thanks, Jessica
