And It's About Time There Was Some Support For Cushing's!
I am a 32 year old mother of a 2&1/2 year old. Near the end of my pregnancy I had problems with my blood pressure. After my delivery, everything seemed ok. The following October, I had to have a physical for work and my bp was out of control. My Dr. put me on bp meds but I never had good control of my bp.
Since Jan of this year I have developed muscle weakness, facial hair, started having headaches, stretch marks, hot flashes, hump on my back, round and extremely puffy face, etc, etc. I changed Dr's and he began treating me for hypertension. When my bp did not improve, he said we would look for other causes of high bp.
I am also a Pharmacist, so I went back thru info I had from school and noticed Cushing's Syndrome was a cause for high bp. When I saw a list of the symptoms, it was like a check list. I had them all!!!
The next day, I went back to the Dr and asked if he thought I might have Cushing's. He immediately began ordering tests for me and got me an apptwith an Endocrinologist. Monday, we get the results from my MRI and CT scan. Now, I just need to find a surgeon in my area who has experience. Any help doing this or advise would be appreciated. I am so glad to have found this website.
Had pit tumor removed June 25, 2003. Hopefully, on the road to recovery.
