I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor July 2002 after returning from vacation and having suffered with double vision on the trip. I have also been diagnosed with glaucoma. I have 40% vision loss so far. (No, I haven't ordered the dog and cane yet.)
I have a VP shunt from hydrocephalus at age 24 (1984). They are watching and waiting on the tumor to reach a large enough size to make it "worth it" to go in and remove it. The first 2 neurosurgeons said it was a 50-50 chance of blinding me completely doing the surgery. The neurosurgeons at MD Andersen say the odds aren't quite that high but are still waiting.
I have double/triple vision off and on and can't drive on the highway or ride in a car on the highway with my eyes open. I just discovered this site so I don't know if this is too much or too little information for here!
