And It's About Time There Was Some Support For Cushing's!
i am 27 years old i was told i had cushings in janurary of 2007. But i had it since about 2001.
It all srarted with the lost of my period i went to doctors and they put me on provera and birth control, no help. then the wight gain. I gained about 130 ibs since 2001. My legs swelled blood pressure was very high for years. I lost most of my hair, very emotional. I tried every diet. I would lose a little i mean a little. i would excersise everyday. I am a mail carrier. my joints started hurting. I did not know what was going on. I was going crazy. I even got gastric -by pass because nothing else helped me to lose weight. To my disappointment i only lost about 40 ibs and got two abcess in my stomach.
Then i got marsa from the hospital. I was being treated for that when i started talking to the nurse about all the problem i was having and that is when she recommended me to an endocrnologist and she looked at me and told me that she think i have cushings. I was like what! so i went home and looked on the computer and looked up cushings and sure enough all the problems it caused i had them.
Eventhough i had to have surgery i was happy i knew what was wrong and i could get better. i had the surgery on april 19th 2007 at the university of chicago. Now it is been a slow process to get better. but with prayer and thinking positive, and family i am trying to endure.
I just want to feel like i felt before 2001. I know it will take time. I just have to be patient.
