Australian Endocrine Surgeons (AES) is a society of specialist surgeons that aims to achieve the highest standards in the practice of endocrine surgery.
Endocrine surgery includes the thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, adrenal glands and the endocrine pancreas.
The members of AES are specialist surgeons (Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons) who have had further training and experience in endocrine surgery. Members of AES are also members of the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons (IAES) which has approximately 400 members worldwide. AES has links to the Endocrine Society of Australia and also to the IAES and other international groups including the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES), the Asian Association of Endocrine Surgeons and the British Association of Endocrine Surgeons (BAES).
