Debbie's Story

Hi, I am thankful to have found this site.

I have been experiencing high cortisol levels on and off for five years. I have seen many doctors and done alot of testing.

My son is a type 1 diabetic and his endo. saw me about 5 years ago and did a 24-hour urine test on me and said he didn't think I was Cushings, so he put me on antidepressants. I seemed to get better, but this past year has been terrible and I have not slept at all for 6 months.

I am currently taking sleeping pills just to get a couple of hours of sleep but want and need help. I feel very hopeless.

I am seeing a naturopath but he is not sure why my cortisol levels are so high. He did a salivary cortisol level and said mine were completely opposite of normal. I don't know much else. I don't know what my next step is but I am going to read and read until I figure out what to do. I know something is awry or my body would not be doing this.

Thanks for this site and for all of you that are participating and helping.
