Brenda's Story

My bio...

Dx'd with Cushings by Dr. Laws at UVA. Scheduled an IPSS test on Feb. 8, 2007. After seeing Drl Laws and his team, they didn't think the test was necessary and cancelled the test and set me up for the surgery to remove the pituitary tumor for the following Monday, Feb. 12, 2007. They removed the tumor Monday morning beginning at 7:30 am.

Cortisol dropped from 26 to 5 after the first blood test and dropped to 2 after the 2nd blood test. They began my meds, Tuesday morning. 40mg in morning and 20mg afternoon for the first week. 2nd week, 20 in the morning and 10 at afternoon.

They believe the surgery to be a success. I return April 11, 2007 with another MRI and see what they have to say then. I feel pretty good and only am having a slight headache every so often. The drainage is the most bothersome of it all.
