And It's About Time There Was Some Support For Cushing's!
Geez, I don't even know where to begin...In 1998 I had what my Doctors referred to as a severe viral infection. I was bedridden for 5 months and eventually quit my job due to illness and stress March 1999. The ONLY great thing that came out of 1998 was that I met my husband that year. He's a terrific man, caring, loving, supportive, my best friend and biggest fan...if it wasn't for him, I honestly think I would have given up by now. I have lost (fired) from 4 jobs due to illness.
I have been diagnosed with a tumor on my right adrenal gland, 2 on my pituitary gland, have had kidney stone surgery, have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, fibroids and an a ovarian cyst. I took the MIBG test for PHEO and it came back negative. I have done the urine tests, blood tests, CT scans, MIBG scan, ultrasounds and still I'm no closer to any definitive answer. I have all the symptoms of Cushings except for my menstrual cycle ceasing, in fact it has probably gotten worse due to the fibroids and cyst. I have terrible headaches and my body screams with pain. I am scheduled to see a surgeon next week, as I have totally given up on my primary physician and my endocrinologist, as they just don't seem to care...all they keep telling me it they want to monitor my tumors for what???
I tested negative for PHEO and asked them repeatedly about Cushings and they my ex-Dr.'s just seem to get annoyed that I having no medical background can ask such questions. I am so crabby and bitchy -that I don't even like or know myself. I cry daily at least once. I'm 41 and feel like I'm dying-honestly. I'm so very, very depressed. I contacted a doctor on your list and its been almost 2 months-with no return call. Is there anyone out there with goods news in regards to Cushings and will these dreadful symptoms ever go away---will I ever be ME again???
